At Green Dot Public Schools California, I lead the strategy, implementation, and refinement of the Black Student Success Program across five pilot campuses.
My work focuses on building the systems, resources, and staff supports behind a consistent program experience, with attention to academic progress, belonging, and college readiness for Black students.
Selected Program Outcomes
During its launch year, BSP exceeded all three academic targets: 79% A-G pass rate, 90% of students earning a GPA of 2.5 or above, and 60% earning a GPA of 3.0 or above.
My contribution centered on building the program infrastructure behind this work, including advisor resources, academic monitoring routines, student support tools, and implementation guidance. These program outcomes reflect the shared work of students, advisors, counselors, and school teams.
Selected Projects
Advisor Guidebooks & Implementation Resources
I developed advisor guidebooks, planning tools, and implementation resources that translate program priorities into clear expectations and practical steps.
These materials support advisor planning, student check-ins, service documentation, and coordination across campuses. My focus is on giving staff useful guidance they can return to throughout the year.
Academic Monitoring & Data Routines
I built monitoring tools and review routines that bring together GPA, A-G progress, attendance, and D/F trends.
This work connects data review with student support planning. I organize information so advisors and school teams can identify needs, prioritize follow-up, monitor changes, and use those findings to adjust their approach.
Professional Learning & Advisor Support
I design professional learning and implementation support around the decisions advisors make in their daily work.
Resources and team learning sessions address academic planning, student support, college readiness, and the use of program tools. I draw on advisor feedback and emerging needs to refine materials and identify where additional guidance is needed.
Program Events & Engagement
I plan student experiences that connect Black history and culture, college exploration, and leadership development. Examples include the Black History and Culture Bowl, the annual HBCU tour, and leadership-building workshops.
My work brings together event planning, program messaging, and branded materials to connect each experience with BSP’s broader priorities. I consider both the practical details behind the event and how students encounter the program through its communications, materials, and activities.
